Chiropractic Philosophy:   Success without Health

From the textbook of Logan Basic Methods, from the original manuscript of Hugh B. Logan, D.C.:

What is success?  Is it the amassing of great sums of wealth and material values?  Is it renown, far-spread fame?  Or is it just content in workday life?  Whatever may be the rule by which we individually measure success, what after all underlies real success, happiness, and contentment?  It can be but one thing:  that abounding state of health, of physical and mental well-being and poise that allows men and women to carry their ideals, their plans, their dreams into realization; that buoys them up under difficulty and lets them forge ahead to higher achievement; that carries them, with a zest for life and living, into an active old age.

Of what value would be the best equipment, the highest exactness of skill, the glowing opportunity, without the motivating mental and physical energies to use them?  By comparison they would lie dormant and decay.

Success lies, we might say, within the individual, and primarily within the mind.  The normal, active function of the mind is dependent upon normal function of the body; this is possible only when every part of the body framework is in that perfect contour and relationship designed for its entirety.

Children:

Birth Misalignments

One of the first misalignments can occur during the normal birthing process.  It is very important to have a child’s spine examined to ensure healthy development.  As a child becomes more active, subluxation can result from normal play.  Some spinal degeneration and distortion in adults was probably present as early as infancy.  Your chiropractor would gladly examine your child to ensure proper spine alignment.  It is never too early to start chiropractic care.

Make your child’s first spinal exam as important as their first dental exam.  The backbone of health starts the day you are born.
